The Google profile
The bit that decides whether they find you at all.
£400 a month to run your Google Business Profile properly. It starts the day your site goes live. This is the part that keeps working long after the website is finished.
£400a month
Billed monthly by card, starting the day the site goes live. No minimum term, cancel any time.
Why this and not something else
You could spend £400 a month on ads and stop getting calls the day you stop paying. Your Google profile is the opposite. It is the free listing that sits above everything else on a phone, it is already attached to your business, and almost nobody maintains it. The categories are usually wrong, the photos are years old, half the reviews have no reply, and nothing has been posted since it was set up.
What happens every month
Categories and services set correctly
The single biggest lever there is, and almost every profile has it wrong. Your primary category, your secondary categories and the services listed underneath decide which searches you are even eligible to appear for. This gets fixed first because nothing else matters if it is wrong.
Five fresh geotagged photos a month
Real photos of real work, tagged to where they were taken. Profiles with recent photography look open and active. Profiles with four pictures from 2019 do not.
One post a week
A post every week about what you are doing, an offer, a job you finished or something seasonal. It keeps the profile active and it gives somebody comparing two businesses a reason to pick the one that looks alive.
Every review replied to within 24 hours
All of them, good and bad, within a day. A bad review with a calm, quick reply underneath reads far better than a bad review sitting on its own for a month.
A review request system at your front desk
A QR card where your customers actually stand, and a text message after every appointment. Most businesses ask for reviews when they remember. This asks every single time, which is the only reason the number ever goes up.
A one page report on the 1st of every month
Where you rank across the city for the searches that matter, and how many calls came from Google. One page, same date every month, and you never have to ask for it.
The review system
Asking every time, not when you remember.
A card where your customers actually stand, and a text after every appointment. The reviews that come back get a reply within the day, whatever they say. That is the whole loop, and it is the only reason the number ever moves.
What it is not
- 01
It is not a ranking guarantee. Nobody can promise you a map position, and anybody who does is selling you something they cannot deliver.
- 02
It is not instant. A profile that has been neglected for years takes a few months of consistent work before the numbers move.
- 03
It is not ads. Nothing here is paid placement. If you want to run Google ads on top, that is a separate conversation.
