What we collect, and what we do not.

SmartSite is the trading name of Conall Reilly, who is the data controller for anything you send us on WhatsApp or by email. You can reach him at conall@smartsite.website.

When you message our WhatsApp number: your WhatsApp phone number and the messages you send and receive in that chat, with their times.

Anything you choose to tell the assistant, such as your name, business, town, website and email address. When you ask to go ahead or to speak to Conall, those details are saved as an enquiry.

When you email us: your email address and what you write.

No cookies are set for advertising or tracking on this site, and there is no third party analytics script beyond anonymous page counts from the hosting platform.

To answer your questions, reply to your enquiry and prepare what you asked for. We also read the chats to see how the assistant is doing and to improve its answers.

The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business conversation you started. We do not message you first, and we do not add you to any marketing list.

Meta, which runs WhatsApp and carries the messages. Anthropic, whose AI writes the assistant's replies from the conversation. Supabase, where the chats and enquiries are stored. Vercel, which hosts this site and the assistant. Resend, which emails new enquiries to us.

Each acts on our instructions. Some may process data outside the UK under standard contractual clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

Access to the stored chats is limited to us, behind a password. Nothing is readable from the public site.

Chats and enquiries that do not become clients are deleted within twenty four months.

If you become a client, the enquiry is kept for as long as we work together and for six years afterwards, which is the period business records have to be retained.

Nobody. Your details are never sold, rented, traded or passed to a third party for their own marketing.

The only parties that touch the data are the providers named above, acting on our instructions.

You can ask for a copy of what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, ask for it to be deleted, or withdraw your consent at any time.

Email conall@smartsite.website and it will be done within one month. There is no charge and you do not have to give a reason.

If you are unhappy with how it was handled you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.

If this notice changes, the new version is published on this page. Anything that materially affects how your data is used is emailed to people it applies to.
